Every year a city of trucks, rv’s, cars, and tents with tens of thousands of people is created in middle of the desert where trucking enthusiasts gather to celebrate, show off, race and have fun. We had the pleasure of attending one of these events over the weekend. The King of the Hammers’ Every Man Challenge.

John Currie, and Gerald Lee won the "Every Man Challenge" coming in an OVERALL first place beating out even the highly modified race cars with their "stock mod" Jeep vehicle. What an impressive run put on by the duo with the 46 double lucky car, number 4688.

John Currie started out the race in 33'rd position of 37 racers; by mile 50 the Savvy Currie Jeep was in 3rd place overall passing by remote pit 2 to carry on and maintain their position.

After splashing some fuel in the following pit, they continued the race with the same energy they started with. By the time John and Gerald came out of Boulderdash they had a demanding lead over the rest of the pack having passed  the modified Poison Spyder rig driven by Larry McRae at the top of the trail due to some steering issues they were in first and well on their way to completing the race.

At this point in the race it was a matter of keeping things together and keeping your head in the game. I raced from Boulderdash after having shot some photos of them coming down the trail in hopes to catch them at the finish line, but they were faster than I was even shooting cross country.

Congratulations to all involved in this build, and running of the race-car. Casey Currie is responsible for the suspension of this vehicle, and is sure seems he and whomever had their hands into this suspension knows how to make a Jeep perform on varied terrains.

Now with a position in the big race, "King Of The Hammers" I sure hope to see these fellas' put on a nice showing in the main event. For more information on this event check out http://ultra4racing.com/

See you there!!
