The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf company, also known simply as the Coffee Bean, is proud to introduce one new coffee and one new tea blend to their product line on February 28th. The Orange County Blend Coffee offers a “light citrus aroma with a malty flavor, smooth body and a caramel finish” while the new tea blend, named Orange County Sunshine Blend Tea, is described as being an Oolang tea with “a tart hint of Orange zest” and “sweetly scented Orange Blossoms”. The company is excited to premier these unique new blends to their customers in the Orange County area.

Both of these new offerings try to capture the true spirit of Orange County and through a donation program will be returning some of the profits they make back to the community itself. The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf program has offered to donate 1$ for every bag of the Orange County blends of coffee and tea that are sold to 24 local Orange County schools. The money given to the schools will be put towards areas that the schools themselves have identified a need in. The donations from the Coffee Bean will go to a variety of different fields, from music to arts to science programs, and will help to fund such things as computer labs and the purchase of more art supplies.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf company has been providing quality coffee and tea beverages sourced from around the world for over 40 years now, slowly expanding to locations and gaining more loyal customers who love this brand all over the US. Getting their start in California, the Coffee Bean is returning to its roots and is proud to say they are working to help local schools fund their art and science programs with these new Orange County specific blends. Each of the 24 Orange County Coffee Bean locations has selected a nearby Orange County school, ranging from elementary to high schools, to support with this initiative, so customers will know to which school the money from their purchase will benefit.

This is not the first philanthropic initiative that The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf has been involved with. The company cites that some of the core principles at the Coffee Bean include a “fundamental, unwavering commitment to the concept of social responsibility.” Their “Caring Cup” initiatives are put to work in the local communities that they serve as well as in international communities where they source the main ingredients for their products. The Coffee Bean’s website remarks, “The framework of Caring Cup initiatives is rooted in need; where there is a need - from preserving the environment to improving education - we work diligently to respond.” By funding local schools, the Coffee Bean is helping to fill the gap left by a lack of funding from the local government to make sure that the schools still have the resources they need to maximize the educational and extracurricular opportunities to their students.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf company has yet to announce how long their Orange County blends will be available for purchase after the debut on February 28th. Customers interested in trying out the different blends, and thereby supporting local Orange County schools, can get the new coffee and tea varieties in any of the 24 Orange County locations, since all are participating in this program. The OC Blend Coffee will retail at $9.95 per bag and the OC Sunshine Blend Tea will retail for $8.95; both are great deals for such a uniquely blended selections that the company has spent months of development, research and tastings to get just right. Hopefully customers local to Orange County can help the Coffee Bean reach their goal of raising $20,000 to help support the 24 adopted Orange County schools in 2011 alone.
