Grave Digger, the world’s most notorious monster truck, will seek to thrill the Anaheim crowd under driver Charlie Pauken’s guidance. Grave Digger’s history traces back to the 1980s when driver Dennis Anderson created a monster truck using old discarded vehicle parts. With time the Grave Digger truck evolved into a more menacing threat. The current model has a bulletproof transmission, nitrogen shock absorbers, and a Chevrolet Big Block engine which can produce 1500 horsepower. Pauken has spent over 12 years behind the Grave Digger’s wheel and knows how to put on a show for the crowd. He lives for pushing the limits as evident from his comment “Anyone can drive, but when you go out there and bring it to the edge and bring it back, that's driving!” on the official Grave Digger website. Monster Jam will be a family matter of sorts as Grave Digger the Legend will compete, also looking to leave a lasting impression with the Anaheim crowd. Adam Anderson, son of Grave Digger’s mastermind, conceived the second generation Grave Digger. Grave Digger the Legend has a slick look to it, resembling a blue and silver hearse. The monster truck spent some time on a hiatus before returning to active duty almost a year ago. Other trucks scheduled to take action February 12th includes Dragon’s Breath, Maximum Destruction, Monster Mutt, Nitro Circus, Iron Man, The Patriot, Tropical Thunder, The Felon, Bounty Hunter, Iron Outlaw, Maniac, Jurassic Attack, Time Flys, and Shocker. These monster trucks make Monster Jam easy to enjoy on several different levels. Destruction junkies, car enthusiasts, art fanatics, and young kids can all find pleasure from Monster Jam. The annihilation monster trucks cause will entice the destruction junkies. Car enthusiasts will find the different car bodies used for building the monster trucks intriguing. Art fanatics can appreciate and value each monster truck as a work of art. Traditionally monster truck shows aren’t considered art exhibits but you can’t justifiably deny the aesthetic work involved in monster trucks designs. From Tropical Thunder’s triadic color scheme and Grave Digger’s decals to Iron Man’s portrayal of the Iron Man superhero and Jurassic Attack’s texture use, every monster truck contains artistic elements. Young kids will find monster trucks’ mammoth sizes engaging. Like superheroes and cartoons, monster trucks capture your imagination, journeying you beyond reality’s everyday limits. Monster trucks dimensions alone are wowing. Tires on monster trucks can measure five to six feet tall. The driver seat typically sits 10 feet off the ground. The trucks usually weigh in around the 10,000 pound marker. Monster trucks are real life giants, simply put. Tickets for the final Anaheim Monster Jam show are still available and range in price from $22 to $75. Tickets can be purchased at Ticketmaster or by calling (800) 745-3000. Passes will cost $2 more the day of show so make sure to purchase your tickets in advance. $22 will get you 400 or 500 level seating at Angel Stadium ($10 for kids). $75 buys you the “Total Access Pass” experience. This includes a private pit party where you can get up close and personal with the monster trucks and drivers from 2:00pm to 3:00pm. For the actual show you will kick back in the stadium’s most luxurious seats. A public pit party will also be held from 3:00pm to 5:30pm for anyone who purchases pit party passes. Pit party passes can be purchased at Ticketmaster for $5 or at the box office day of show. Whether you’re looking for the simple pleasures that comes with witnessing destruction, exploring the different car models used in constructing monster trucks, yearning to appreciate untraditional art forms, or searching for an event your family will enjoy, Monster Jam has you covered. Make sure to purchase your tickets for Saturday, February 12th. Doors for Monster Jam open at 5:00pm and the event starts at 7:00pm. And a word of advice from experience, bring ear plugs with you! The roar of the monster truck engines and the crunching of destruction will leave your ears ringing at the end of the night. Still, the rest of you should leave highly entertained. |
