The 2010 Vans Warped Tour will be Andrew Fetterly Wilkes-Krier’s, better known as Andrew WK, first tour with his full band since 2005, when legal issues led to questions of whether Andrew had the copyrights to the name Andrew WK. Andrew WK will be a part of all six of the Warped Tour’s Californian stops. Additionally, Andrew WK will be a part of the Warped Tour Kickoff Party on April 9th in West Hollywood, CA.

Andrew WK’s music career, which roots go back to Andrew taking piano lessons at the University of Michigan’s School of Music at the age of four, was going along well until late 2005. Up until that point Andrew WK’s music seemed to be everywhere. His first major hit, “Party Hard,” was featured on EA Sports’ 2003 Madden video game and the Girls Gone Wild Music Volume 1 album, while his song “She is Beautiful” was featured on early Nintendo Gamecube commercials and “We Want Fun,” another one of his songs, could be found on the soundtrack of Jackass: the Movie.

The music career of Andrew WK hit a controversial point when a mysterious individual by the name of Steev Mike surfaced, claiming he was the man responsible for the music of Andrew WK. This led to some online bickering between the two parties, including an incident in which Andrew WK’s website was hacked into. For fans of Andrew WK, the whole ordeal proved to be frustrating as Andrew was restricted from using the Andrew WK name in certain areas of the country.

With copyright issues heavily restricting his music career, Andrew Wilkes-Krier started focusing on using his talents for other opportunities. Andrew started penning an advice column for Anthem Magazine, giving motivational speeches to places like Yale University and Carnegie Mellon University, hosting a show called Destroy Build Destroy on the Cartoon Network, and even opening his own nightclub in New York. Andrew remained connected with music as well, starting his own record label, Skyscraper Music Maker, and doing various musical projects in Japan.

Now with the Steev Mike fiasco behind him, Andrew looks to bring his high energy rock music back to the States. Getting to watch Andrew WK live at the Vans Warped Tour should be a memorable experience. Andrew WK explains on his Myspace page that the goal of his music is to spread fun and joy.

Update: THE ANDREW W.K. PARTY HOUSE (to be featured at Warped Tour)  is an 800 sq. ft. air conditioned circus tent.  It's an unprecedented addition to this year's Warped Tour, and a place for pure celebration and fun. Beneath the tent, fans will be able to MEET and PARTY with Andrew in a cool and comfortable air-conditioned room, and browse never before seen A.W.K. PARTY SUPPLIES, including new limited edition t-shirts and exclusive party merchandise. Fans will also have the chance to enter a raffle to win an ESP guitar on every Warped Tour date!  Each day, winners will be chosen in a random drawing conducted by Andrew himself.
