The Bangles Getting Ready to Bring A Real Rock Show to Anaheim House of Blues

Forget about your maniac Monday and get ready to walk like an Egyptian because The Bangles will take over House of Blues Anaheim Saturday, November 12th. The show continues the band’s tour promoting their new album Sweetheart of the Sun (read our review here), released back on September 27th. Like the new studio album The Bangles’ tour receives much praise from critics.

When asked about what fans can expect Saturday, November 12th at House of Blues Anaheim drummer Debbi Peterson said “a mixed bag of Bangles.” She went on to clarify “You’ll hear the old stuff you’re familiar with and then some new stuff you might not know as well but will hopefully like.” As documented in concert reviews for The Bangles’ stops in Philadelphia October 1st and Chicago October 10th the hits from the ‘80s really charge up the live crowds. For instance, Leigh Valley Music’s John J. Moser described the affects The Bangles had on their Philadelphia crowd October 1st when the band started playing “Maniac Monday” noting the song “sent a rush through the crowd, which started bopping.”

However, don’t just expect a night filled with nostalgia. Chicago Now’s Jim Ryan pointed out about The Bangles’ performance at House of Blues Chicago October 10th “A theme of the evening quickly became how good the new material holds up amongst the band's hits.” A listen to Sweetheart of the Sun will leave you itching to witness the band bring their new songs like “Anna Lee” and “Ball N Chain” to life onstage.

Furthering the entertainment value The Bangles’ live shows pack is the easygoing nature the three female musicians possess. As Debbi Peterson discussed with us in our OC Reloaded Sweetheart of the Sun album review, the band contributes their laidback attitude to learning, thanks to motherhood, to not waste time worrying about little problems. Moser in his concert review made clear The Bangles demonstrate this attitude onstage when describing the performance for “Walk Like an Egyptian,” “They played it loose and fun – Hoffs even badly screwed up the lyrics to her verse, smiling sheepishly.”

Other observations Moser included in his Leigh Valley Music concert review reinforces another remark Debbi Peterson made in our interview. The drummer said “The music comes from our hearts.” This point proves evident by how into their music The Bangles get when playing live. Moser notes “Hoffs was so into the music she would dip her head and swing her hair” and “Vicki Peterson was obviously enjoying herself, smiling and bouncing as she played.”

If you’re looking for a fun-filled evening Saturday, November 12th, you will want to get your tickets for The Bangles at House of Blues Anaheim ASAP. The Bangles opened their tour playing for a sold-out Philadelphia crowd so you won’t want to take the chance of House of Blues Anaheim selling out. Come see first-hand what critics have marveled over the past month. As you start to get ready for November 12th keep these words from Bangles drummer Debbi Peterson in mind “Expect a real rock show.”
