Thinking about being surrounded by hotties in skimpy swimsuits while listening to top notch national and international DJs, there seems no wonder anticipation grows with each day for Wet Electric’s return to Irvine, CA’s Wild Rivers this weekend Friday, September 30th and Saturday, October 1st. Since our initial preview for the Vegas style adult only pool party the event’s lure only intensified. Announcements revealing DJs The Crystal Method and Eddie Halliwell will join a lineup already featuring DJ Vice, Designer Drugs, Christopher Lawrence, and Robbie Rivera has people counting down the days and hours to this weekend. Overall 25 DJs will take the stage at Wild Rivers to entertain during the water park’s final event ever.

Considering Wet Electric 2011 will serve as the last event ever at Irvine’s Wild Rivers Eddie Halliwell proves an ideal choice to perform. Mixmag comments “(Eddie) makes every set, no matter how small the club or how big the festival, feel like the closing party of the end of the world.” Additionally Mixmag in 2010 named Halliwell to their “Greatest DJs of All Time” list. In an article published by Viet Nam News you can read a description of Eddie’s abilities “He harnesses the energy of every beat, synth, hi-hat, squelch and squeak, using his technical expertise to generate energy and new sounds.” Simply put Eddie Halliwell’s status in the electronic music scene can get summed up with one word, legendary.

The Crystal Method, Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland, already gave the Irvine area a reason to clamor about the upcoming Wet Electric event when they announced their sets will include their brand new single “Play for Real.” The track features vocals and guitar from the British rock group The Heavy. In general The Crystal Method uses rock elements in their music which has enabled the group to standout. In 2009 The Crystal Method even received a Grammy nomination for their studio album Divided by Night. You may also recognize The Crystal Method for music from television shows like Bones and Third Watch.

Anyone who thinks Wet Electric will not live up to the tremendous hype can find reassurance in feedback from the recent Wet Electric event in Fresno. After the event Saturday, September 10th and Sunday, September 11th attendees flocked to Wet Electric’s Facebook page to share their experiences. Liz Caranza wrote “Had the best time of my life.” Chantel Pereda said “I had an incredible time! Can’t wait till next year! Just keeps getting better and better!” Alex Rocha called the experience “The perfect way to end the summer.” Technically summer is now over but who cares about technicalities? Make your way out to Wild Rivers for Wet Electric Friday, September 30th and Saturday, October 1st for two last nights of summer-like fun.

If for some off reason the DJs don’t appeal to you, you may still want to visit Wild Rivers this weekend. Tragically Wild Rivers closes for good following Wet Electric on Saturday, October 1st. You don’t want to waste the opportunity to splash in the wave pools and ride the rides at Wild Rivers one final time. Tickets for Friday, Saturday, or both days can be purchased at Wet Electric’s official website.

We still have a couple more pairs of Wet Electric tickets to give away - FOLLOW us and pay attention to our twitter for more information!
