Slightly Stoopid, the band St. Louis Music Press describes as “a self-made underground success story,” brings their Seedless Summer Tour to Irvine, CA’s Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre this Saturday, September 17th.  For fans who can’t help but dance around in anticipation for Saturday’s show, good news!  You don’t need to wait for the weekend to get your Slightly Stoopid fix. On Tuesday, September 13th Slightly Stoopid visits Bob Weir’s (Grateful Dead/Furthur) TRI (Tamalpais Research Institute) Studio for a special online stream. The stream will feature two sets, one acoustic and one electric, in addition to special guests and a Q & A session with the band.

The TRI Studio appearance serves as the perfect opportunity for fans to interact with band members. Twitter and Facebook feeds will allow viewers to submit questions and comments to the group during the Q & A session. Special guests such as jazz artist Karl Denson and former Black Uhuru singer Don Carlos will only add to the TRI Studio session’s entertainment value. Slightly Stoopid, via their website, also promises “plenty of surprises.” The live stream Tuesday begins at 6:00pm PDT and replays at 9:00pm PDT. The broadcast, available at http://www.tristudios.com/, costs $10 with all proceeds going to Save the Children and World Food Programme.

After Tuesday’s TRI Studio online stream, you will almost for certain become that much more amped up for the Slightly Stoopid concert Saturday. If you enjoy Slightly Stoopid’s music but still haven’t seen the group live, make sure to do so. You will appreciate the experience watching the band bring their music to life on-stage. Considering Slightly Stoopid sold out Irvine’s Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in the past you will want to purchase your tickets ASAP.  Tickets start at $29.75 at Live Nation.

Critics give Slightly Stoopid’s live performances praise. The Daily Times says about Slightly Stoopid “(Slightly Stoopid) leaves those in the crowd demanding more.” Last year OC Reloaded’s own Melissa Garcia in her review for the 2010 Smokeout Festival wrote “This band definitely changes up the mood of their performances to match their set time. Both day time performances I've witnessed, they played their rougher material, but when the moon comes out so does their psychedelic side.” The ability to adapt to the surrounding atmosphere represents an important characteristic which makes a group great live.

To any Slightly Stoopid fan in the Irvine area, this week carries the potential to stand out as a very memorable one. First on Tuesday you get to watch via online stream Slightly Stoopid perform both an acoustic and an electric set at TRI Studio.  You also get to participate in a Q & A session with the band members. You can submit your questions for the Q & A in advance by visiting Slightly Stoopid’s website. During the stream you can interact with Slightly Stoopid through Facebook and Twitter feeds. By the time Tuesday’s stream ends you will eagerly await Saturday when Slightly Stoopid plays Irvine’s Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre.
