On September 18, 2010, P.O.D, Alien Ant Farm, and Butterscotch are among other artists coming together to help the Norma Lopez Benefit Concert Fund. The fund will go to help pay for the funeral expenses and to contribute to the reward to help law enforcement find and catch her killer or killers.

On July 20, 2010, a partially decomposed body of Norma Lopez, 17, was found by a resident doing yard work after being missing for 5 days.

The concert will run at Moreno Valley College and run form 12pm till 5pm, with doors opening one hour earlier. 100% of the $10 donation will go to benifit the fund.

When P.O.D  was asked about the concert, their response was “Our hearts go out to the Norma Lopez family. We are deeply saddened and outraged by what’s happened. When we heard about the benefit, we wanted to do our part and help.”

My heart goes out to Norma, her family and friends. I have a daughter and can't even imagine how Norma’s parents feel,” says Alien Ant Farm drummer Mike Cosgrove. “We have a lot of friends that went to Valley View High School through the years and have used that same shortcut. It’s tragic and frightening."

The concert will also feature performances by Adam Lasher Band, Paloma, Cruz, The Ringleader D.J. Ace and a yet-to-be-announced special guest.

From the press release:

Norma’s sister Elizabeth Lopez says, “This concert that is being held to raise awareness and also in the remembrance of my little sister Norma Lopez brings such happiness and honor. Knowing that all the people involved in this project took the time to put all this together on such short notice and yet have never met my sister shows me how much love there really is out in this world. My family and I want to thank you all."
