Every year the Vans Warped Tour provides a large array of musical acts, some of which have broken into the mainstream music scene and others who are looking to make a name for themselves. With over 130 bands scheduled to participate in this year’s tour, the 2010 Vans Warped Tour looks to be no different. Many will flock to the Vans Warped Tour to see bands like Sum 41 and The All-American Rejects. However, just as entertaining should be the young and upcoming musical artists, like Myspace sensation Never Shout Never.

Never Shout Never is the brain child of teenager Christofer Drew. Christofer Drew, a talented singer, songwriter, and guitarist, started recording his own music in his basement back in 2008. Drew released his first EP, entitled “The Yippee,” that same year. Thanks to Myspace, Never Shout Never quickly began to develop an underground following. “The Yippee” has sold over 30,000 copies and Never Shout Never averages over 100,000 Myspace plays a day.

As an Internet sensation Never Shout Never made others in the music business take notice. In January 2009 the band participated in their first national headlining tour, along with the likes of The Scene Aesthetic, The Honorary Title, and The Bigger Lights. In February 2010 Alternative Press (AP) Magazine recognized Never Shout Never as one of the 100 bands people should know about. On stage Drew is accompanied by his friends, who happen to double as his band-mates, Caleb Denison (lead guitarist), Nathan Ellison (drums), and Taylor MacFee (bass).

Christofer Drew revealed in an interview with Edward Stuart of AOL’s Spinner website that the influence of Drew’s music includes “Peace, love, happiness, joy, faith, and hope.” Drew’s good heart has seemingly brought Never Shout Never good karma. In January Never Shout Never released a mini-album, entitled What is Love?, through Loveway Records. Some of What is Love? was even recorded at the illustrious Abbey Road Studios in London.

Butch Walker, a music producer who has worked with mainstream acts such as Katy Perry and Weezer, produced the eight track What is Love? mini-album.

With so much success already achieved in their young careers, Never Shout Never seems destined for even greater things. Having the chance to see Never Shout Never play at the Vans Warped Tour should be a very memorable experience. You will be able to see Drew and his band at all six of the Warped Tour’s California stops.
