Colbie Caillat at House of Blues

House of Blues hosted Colbie Caillat and chart-topping newcomer, Andy Grammer for a night of melodic tunes, sure to leave you comatose.

The mellow vibe wasn't provided only by her music, but by her set design as well. The stage was dressed like a bohemian fortress, with colorful floor pillows and large rugs that stretched under the band's feet. The christmas tree lights that hung loosely above the stage didn't help with the sleepiness I was already pestered by.

The sold out crowd left no room to enter the floor area leaving the balcony crowded with with 14 year youngs, to 56 year olds.

"The Little Things" and "Realize" were the first sung, which ultimately gained her success off her debut album "Coco" in 2007.  Just like her music, her personality on stage was easy going and sweet. She sauntered around stage seamlessly hitting every note better than she had on her albums. Everything about her music and performance screamed (more like whispered) cool, calm and collected.

"Begin Again,"  off her second album "Break Through," also had two more hits "Fallin' For You," and "I Never Told You," which Caillat also performed.
After serenading her guitarist, Justin Young, with a Happy Birthday song they sung a duet for the song "Lucky," who she originally recorded with Jason Mraz.

Now to clear up the confusion, her next song "I Do" is not about getting engaged she tells us, but if you ask me it sure sounds like it.

Her angelic voice and tranquil demeanor had the dark corner of the House of Blues looking real seductive for a quick nap. But I just couldn't keep my eyes off of her, so I kept on my feet. The only disappointing thing about the performance was that she only picked up her guitar twice, once for "The Little Things," and again for her 'last song,' "Fallin' For You." No doubt, this show was a true stress reliever. Her vocals were as peaceful as a lullaby. But no folks it didn't there by the time half the audience left she came to do an encore of her first hit "Bubbly," now that there was room, the fans were dancing and singing along. The most exertion of energy I witness all night.

Now if your a fan of the VH1's Top 20 Countdown early in the morning, then its more than likely this guy has started your day off with a glow of positivity. Andy Grammer has taken off with his hit single "Keep Your Head Up" off his debut album "Andy Grammer." He's not only touring with Colbie but also with Natasha Bedingfield to promote his newly released album. "Fine By Me," and "Pocket" were also played and his happy-go-lucky vibe was enough to turn shit into gold.

When I hear the word 'concert' the last thing I'm thinking of is a night full of relaxation, so congrats to Colbie and Andy you guys are probably only exception to this theory.
