What a fun day of Music, Tattoos, and skateboarding demos.

The skateboard demo’s went from when I arrived at the venue, around 5PM (missing SIX was very sad.. ) with some 10 skateboarders riding a rather large half pipe and getting rather good air and doing many different tricks. I felt like I was at an x-games demo. I didn’t get a chance to meet anybody but tomorrow I’ll be sure to get some names. Tomorrow the All Star Skate Jam on Saturday featuring Mike Vallely will be from 5pm to 6 pm, not 5:30pm.  Oh – I had a lot of pictures from the skate demo but – for reasons beyond my control I lost all my pictures on a 8gb memory card before the night was over.

The music was great. When I got there Wolfbane started. They played a killer set with such songs as California Quicksand, We are the Hated, Revolution, The Devil Made Me do it, and Ali babba Motel. The band has been together a year today – Congratulations guys!  The crowd wasn’t very crowded at this time but you could tell those that were there were hardcore wolfbane fans – or new fans after their kick ass set and fun interaction with the crowd.  For more information on wolfbane you can visit their MySpace page. “It’s loud. Really loud. There’s some sing-along action with the crowd. And you might just get beat up or pregnant.

By the time professional BMX(er) Rick Throne's band Good Guys In Black was on stage , the crowd was seriously growing. I had never heard these guys before and was trying to concentrate on taking pictures instead of getting into the concert but it was very hard. They sort of have a NIN and Linkin Park thing going on - and its very easy to get into the music. At the end of the set they played the Rage Against The Machine song Killing In The Name - and what a great cover version it was.

On the other stage Mike Vallely was taking control of the crowed and was definitely a crowd favorite. They played a great Black Flag Tribute, great openers for the next bands the Unfortunates and the CULT. Mike’s band had no shortage of female fans – every few minutes you could hear them screaming his name and for an encore – not to say he didn’t have male fans, just the girls were more vocal about it =)

By the time the CULT hit the stage the crowd was still a bit small and very tame. But that didn't matter for the hardcore CULT fans in the audience - they finally got what they wanted!
